Safeguarding

Our school is fully committed to the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We are proud to have in place both a robust child protection and safeguarding policy alongside equally stringent processes and procedures to ensure that ALL staff, volunteers and adults in our school share this commitment.

Assessment and Progress

Assessment

Assessments are done twice every half term, one teacher assessment and one main assessment, and these are shared with parents at the end of each half term.

Reports

Reports and grades are given to parents in December, April and July of each year. We follow a READ reporting system focusing on how well the young person Recalls information, is Engaged in lessons, Apply their understanding to questions and practical application, and how Developed their writing and synthesis is.

Exams

Formal examinations (SATS: Standard Assessment Tests) are done at the end of year 6.

Broad and Balanced Curriculum

Lessons are planned and structured to fuel the child’s curiosity and love for learning. We incorporate different learning styles and tools to differentiate and support each child as well as their needs.
